I absolutely loved this book! I couldn’t put it down while reading it, and again when listening to this amazingly narrated audiobook! The accents and emotions of all characters are so well done!
The author has a great way of describing each person, their past and present and right into the action!! And it doesn’t stop! Alex is a strong, determined young lady, raised by her loving father, a trapper, in remote mountains. Her training in trick riding and medicine help her through many hard times, as well as her relationships growing up as friends of the local native tribe and trading post owner.
The countryside, stage stops and viewpoints are easily pictured with Lizzy’s excellent writing. A great read!

I thoroughly enjoyed listening to the audiobook version of A Long Trail Rolling by Lizzi Tremayne. Set against the rugged backdrop of the Utah Territory in the 1860s, this historical Western delivers a compelling story that is fun to experience.
The author’s personal love of horses shines clearly through the narration, adding an extra layer of authenticity and warmth to the rugged wilderness setting. The production features a duet narration by Laura Horowitz and Steve Corona. While both narrators do a fantastic job bringing the characters to life, Steve Corona’s performance was definitely my favorite.
If you are a fan of immersive historical fiction, put this one on your list!

A Long Trail Rolling is a beautifully written western, historical romance set in 1860, USA.
It is a fast-paced adventure following Aleksandra and Xavier who both worked for the Pony Express. It includes detailed descriptions of the area in which it was set. I could imagine the dangerous tracks, steep hills, rough trails and the hostile Indians who wanted to kill the pony riders. I was interested to hear about how the pony express worked and the fact that it provided fast communication from one area to another.
I liked the character of Aleksandra. She managed to become a Pony Express Rider by hiding her long hair under a cowboy hat, acting and sounding like a man. She had a job to do, a pony to protect, ‘Horses are the best things on earth.” She was an experienced rider and knew ways to escape the arrows shot at her by the Indians. She did a trick where she hung over the pony to get away from the arrows. Aleksandra was determined to keep her father’s secret even when she was in danger.
I loved that the audiobook had two narrators, this made it easy to follow the different characters of the story.
There were many themes throughout including betrayal, secrets, love, courage, survival and danger.
I highly recommend listening to, A Long Trail Rolling. Thank you, Lizzi, for allowing me to listen to the audiobook. I thoroughly enjoyed this and give it five stars. I am looking forward to listening to the next in this series.

Listening to the audio book was an absolute pleasure. With my eyes closed, I absorbed the equine and historical facts, while Lizzi’s writing embroidered the wild and unforgiving landscape with a vivid realism. She creates believable characters and drives them along like a covered wagon on a twisting, stony trail….never quite knowing what awaits around the next bend.
This story is perfect for anyone who likes a great adventure, especially lovers of horses, historical fiction, and the final days of the Wild West. It’s fast paced, immersive and brilliantly written.

I really enjoyed A Long Trail Rolling by Lizzi Ttemayne. It was an easy and enjoyable listen, with a clear plot that was easy to follow. I liked how the story kept moving along without getting too complicated, which made it a nice book to listen to.
I enjoyed the character development and seeing how the characters grew throughout the story. I found the characters interesting and enjoyed following their journey throughout the book. Overall, I really enjoyed the book and would recommend it if you’re looking for an easy and entertaining listen.

If you enjoyed reading this series of books, you will most certainly enjoy the The Long Trails – Book one as an audio book.
It covers adventure, romance and survival at its best. An action packed book brought to life by the excellent narrators Laura Horrowitz & Steve Carona. These two brought the book to life with their voices being easily distinguishable between the charactars. Their voices fitted the characters and aligned with how I had perceived them in the hard copy version. I also felt the flow was at an excellent listening pace.
This audio book kept me engaged from start to finish and will certainly prove to be very popular.
